C. O. Karunakaran Memorial Hall
This
is the main auditorium in the Medical College Campus.
This is located on the left side of the road leading
upto the main block of the college. Most of the festivals,
exams and other functions take place in the confines
of this spacious, well constructed auditorium. The
external design is very contemporary. The seating
facilities range from about 300 during the exams to
about 1000 during functions. There is adequate parking
space inside it's compound and on the outside. There
is dressing room for behind the stage in a floor underneath.
The only major defect with this is the acoustics.
That makes it very bad for staging live musical concerts.
The Auditorium in the Main Building
This
usually holds the CMEs and the training programmes
for undergraduates, postgraduates etc. It was built
way back in the 1950s. So, it has a charming old look.
The seating capacity is not as big as it's brother
on the outside. The main advantage with this is that
the lounge just outside can be used as a buffet counter.
Some exams are also conducted in here if the other
auditorium is engaged with some other function.
The Achuta Menon Hall
This
is the hall by the side of the RCC library. It's used
for relatively small gatherings and those of the higher
rank. The seating capacity is around 270.
