Happy
and Great Flag : Dr. Sebind Kumar

The happy flag
i'm the great national
flag,
yes,its me, though
i may not look it now,
i've got grease on
me & dirt,
and am wrinkled with
colours faded,
but see,i'm no more
dirty,
than the bony hand
holding me,
in fact i;m the cleanest
thing,
that the old man has
on him,
yes,i've seen great
times before,
when thousands bowed
low before me,
when they put lovely
flowers in me,
and stood saluting
while hoisting me ,
i've seen people being
inspired anew,
by the speaches the
politician made,
when i kindled in
them sparks of hope,
that lit up dreams
in their dreary eyes,
today i've none of
the glory,
not much to be looked
& marveled at,
and i'm held by a
hand thats soiled,
and he doesn't have
the inspiry words,
i'm being taken along
a dirty street,
where dirtier people
scoff at me,
but i'm the great
INDIAN flag,
and great are the
things that i stand for,
so u see,i'm fluttering
happy,
to the ruckus around
i pay no heed,
for the man holding
me has Light in his eyes,
AND THAT IS ALL, I
WILL EVER NEED.

- this was inspired by the shocking news that The
National Flag was hoisted in a public function by
the election commission...up side down!! and dedicated
to the Supreme Court decision(flag-code 2002) that
any person can hoist the National Flag, any day, provided, the
due respect is paid to it.and of course, dedicated
to my country,celebrating I-DAY.....Vande Matharam.
