As
the curtain falls on our life in our alma mater, and
as the time has come for us to part ways, we are gripped
with strange feelings of alienation and insecurity.
The very thought of having to leave this campus for
pursuing a life in the callous world is associated
with significant sense of loneliness. It’s just
like the moment when you have to leave your home and
is not at all sure of your return. Indeed, for the
200 of us who have come from various parts of Kerala
and other states, this campus has been rightly the
home away from home during the last five and a half
years.
The
life history of our batch is marked by vicissitudes
- dreams, accomplishments, triumphs, friendship, dances,
music, socials and get-togethers on one side; realities,
tensions, hard work, failures, rivalry and even deaths
on the other side. Nevertheless, in the end, we see
ourselves emerging so fresh, so strong and so determined
in the service of our fellow-beings.
‘Rivisera’ is a humble attempt to re-live
all these golden moments - moments which had moulded
our personalities, moments which we would cherish
for a life time, moments, the very thought of which
fills us with joy and fulfillment. In fact, ’Rivisera’
is the tale of each one of us, the tale of ’96
batch.
The
whole batch contributed so enthusiastically towards
this venture, that the entire work from planning to
publication was done in the record time of 45 days.
Header to footer, cover to cover including DTP and
layout, ’Rivisera’ is the child of our
own effort, another feather of success in the cap
of ’96 batch. Each and every one of us has participated
in one way or other in this effort, a rarity unique
to ’96 batch. In fact, we could gather profiles
of each one of us, again unprecedented, hoping that
this would be of help when we contemplate on a get-together
so many years later. Going through the messages from
our beloved teachers we find showering of care, concern
and blessings. Our sincere gratitude to each one of
you.
Our
future life, as professionals may not be a bed of
roses, and often we may have to face trying circumstances.
In all such situations let’s have a feeling
of ‘una corda’ (one string), for unity
is our strength. Let’s continue to support each
other and let not external forces or narrow-mindedness
hold us apart.
Let us all aim sky high and acquire greatness. As
we forge ahead, through the path unknown, making way
through the thick bushes and thorns, when often sunlight
may not pierce the canopy, let’s have treasured
memories to soothe our souls and revive inner strength
to guide us through.
With
best wishes and prayers,
